Tips!
*Fresh, Lean, Green: We incorporate these three elements into almost every meal. Fresh produce, lean protein sources, and leafy greens.
*When it comes to grains, we try to stick to steamed rice, rice noodles, and quinoa products. I'm constantly experimenting with coconut, almond, and rice flours instead of starched white all purpose flours. My mom used to say, "the whiter the bread, the sooner you're dead."
*Sugars and sweeteners: Stevia, raw agave, and coconut sugar are our go-to sweeteners.
*Butter and Dairy: Coconut oil is a must have in our pantry, ghee is another great substitute for butter, or even applesauce. I substitute milk with coconut or almond milk in my recipes. Greek yogurt is a staple in our home.
*Every now and then, let yourself have an Oreo. It's gonna be okay.
